Oh My God!

Who is God? Of course each religion defines him differently and in each religion the various sects choose their own rules and regulations that apparently God has given. Of course there is the 'educated' class that supposedly is above all this - but are they really?

People who are educated and have been taught that all religions are equal and God does not discriminate between people still will argue about how their religion is better than other's. The funniest part is - till date, nobody has been able to prove that God (in any religion) has said he/she/it loves people of this religion better than people of another.

Recently, a movie called 'Oh my God' released in India and got mixed responses. Very predictable! People who believe in the message promoted by the movie will LOVE the movie. But those who think God has asked them to go empty buckets of milk on a stone in a temple instead of giving it to some poor kids (or light candles in a church instead of a poor man's house), will HATE the movie.

I wonder, if God actually has all the powers people say he/she/it does - and if he/she/it really liked the 'exchange offers' then wouldn't most people have everything they wanted? Hmm... I guess God takes offers when he wants them... or she wants them... or it wants them...

People contradict their own sayings about religion. Everyone says God is everywhere and still they build huge temples and places of worship. It begs the question does God really want so many houses or shoud I call them guest houses (since he/she/it must be having a permanent house somewhere else)? Instead if people built houses or schools for people in need of those, wouldn't that be better?

The whole concept of God is quite confusing... Someday I will meet him/her/it and let you know his/her/its point of view!

PS: I used he/she/it since I wasn't sure about God's gender... again different religions have different views on it and I live in a supposedly secular country.

  1. I`m telling you, Google is god, its pretty much universal, even those who don`t believe in it rely on it and more or less we cant really do without it. As we progress into this information age we are in you will see more clearly that it is Goolge who is our guiding light, our source for all answers and the force that brings the people of the world together irrespective of race, colour, region. Once we all agree with me, it will just be simpler to explain to everyone how all the rituals, exchange offers etc are pointless.
